Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's kids was born in Woodland Hills, California in the year 1956. Her father taught in the school system and her mom was a stay at home mom. Michael Dennis and Kevin are three of her elder brothers. McCormick started dancing and singing from a young age, and often performed show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. Following her win in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was just 6 year old Pat Domigan called from Jack Wormser Agency to see whether McCormick was interested in getting into the entertainment industry. McCormick was offered her first gig as an actress major in the year 1964. She was featured in an ad campaign for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. McCormick also starred in a commercial in the year 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in the play Wind It Up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch In 1969 McCormick was selected from among 1200 children who auditioned to play the eldest of three towheaded girls on the brand new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds with a blended family. The show ran for 5 seasons. McCormick wrote in her book Heres the Story Surviving Marcia Brady And Finding My True Voice Published in 2008 McCormick told of how in the fifth season of the show she almost lost their virginity to twin brother Barry Williams. She was just 16 at the time while he was. It was likely that we would have a romantic relationship, said she. The timing, however, wasn't right.
